So,
You Are Interested in SigEp? Sigma Phi Epsilon is a "college greek fraternity", and anyone in the world can tell you that. When most people hear the word "fraternity" they immediately think of the movie "Animal House." This stereotype, which has been promoted by the mass media for over two decades, has caused a steady decline in college men joining greek fraternities nationally. Many men have missed out on the opportunity of brotherhood and service that teaches not just knowledge, but diginity, compassion, and humanity. Sigma Phi Epsilon has committed itself to erasing this stereotype, which we refer to as "The Frat Boy Image." In this we do not deny that other college fraternities may live up to this stereotype, but Sigma Phi Epsilon strives to be different. With Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love, we are different. Our organization of brotherhood is like no other. Since 1901 Sigma Phi Epsilon has stood by and promoted the cardinal pinciples of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. In this pursuit, 12 men in 1901 changed the future for over 250,000.
So how are we different? A membership program unique among college fraternities was nationally established in 1991—the Balanced Man Program. This program is based on individual growth through academic excellence, enhanced life skills, chapter leadership, mentoring, and service in the community. |
